Privacy Policy

Clubhousen, Inc. ("Clubhousen," "we," "us," or "our") operates the Clubhousen mobile application and the website at clubhousen.com (together, the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices.

By using the Service you agree to the collection and use of information as described here. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. Information We Collect

Information you provide

Account information — name, email address, phone number, city/state/country, profile photo, and optional bio.
Golf data — scores, handicap index, GHIN number (if you choose to link it), tournament history, and round statistics.
User content — posts, comments, photos, videos, chat messages, and emoji reactions you create within the Service.
Contacts — if you use the "Find Friends" feature, we access your device contacts (phone numbers and email addresses) to match against existing Clubhousen users. Non-matching contacts are discarded immediately and are not stored on our servers.
Financial information — Venmo handle (if you add one for side-game settlement). We do not collect or store credit card numbers; payment processing is handled entirely by Stripe (see Section 3).

Information collected automatically

Device identifiers — a unique user ID we assign, device UUID, and push-notification subscription ID (via OneSignal).
Location — coarse location (IP-based country/region) and, with your permission, precise GPS location for the GPS rangefinder, course discovery, and nearby-course features. You can revoke location permission at any time in your device settings.
Usage data — pages viewed, features used, session duration, and interaction events (taps, scrolls). This helps us improve the Service.
Advertising data — when you arrive at the Service via an ad, we collect the referring campaign identifier and match it to your account for ad-performance measurement.
Log data — IP address, browser/device type, operating system version, and timestamps. In the event of an error, we collect crash and diagnostic data via Sentry.

2. How We Use Your Information

Provide, maintain, and improve the Service (scoring, tournaments, chat, leaderboards, GPS).
Personalize your experience (handicap calculations, Strokes Gained estimates, Sandbagger Index, friend suggestions).
Send push notifications about scores, chat messages, tournament updates, and other activity you've opted into.
Measure and optimize our advertising campaigns.
Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents.
Comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

4. Advertising and Tracking

We use Meta Pixel and Meta Conversions API to measure the effectiveness of our advertising campaigns. This involves sending hashed identifiers (email, device ID) and event data (e.g., "app opened," "signed up") to Meta. This constitutes "tracking" as defined by Apple's App Tracking Transparency framework. On iOS, we request your permission via the ATT prompt before enabling tracking. If you decline, we do not send identifiers to Meta for ad measurement.

5. Data Retention

Account data — retained as long as your account is active. You can request deletion at any time (see Section 8).
Scores and tournament history — retained as long as your account is active; tournament organizers may retain aggregate results even after individual account deletion.
Contacts (Find Friends) — processed in memory only; non-matching contacts are never written to disk or database.
Log and crash data — retained for up to 90 days.
Advertising event data — retained by Meta per their data retention policy.

6. Cookies

The Service uses cookies and similar technologies (localStorage, session storage) for authentication, preferences, and analytics. Third-party services listed above may also set their own cookies. You can manage cookie preferences in your browser or device settings, but disabling cookies may limit functionality.

7. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed to anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected such information, we will delete it promptly. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at help@clubhousen.com.

8. Your Rights and Choices

Access and portability — you can view your profile, scores, and history within the app at any time.
Correction — you can update your profile information in the app's Settings page.
Deletion — email help@clubhousen.com to request full account deletion. We will process your request within 30 days.
Push notifications — you can disable push notifications in your device settings at any time.
Location — you can revoke location permission in your device settings. The GPS rangefinder and course-discovery features will be unavailable without it.
Tracking (iOS) — you can change your ATT preference in Settings → Privacy → Tracking on your iOS device.

9. Security

We use commercially reasonable measures to protect your information, including HTTPS encryption for all data in transit and access controls on our servers. No method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy here with a new effective date. Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
