Handicap Factor and Scoring Improvements

Handicaps are supposed to level the field. Now they do it even better.
We've rolled out a set of handicap and scoring improvements that make tournaments fairer, calculations clearer, and scorecards easier to understand.
Handicap Factor
Tournament organizers can now apply a handicap factor — for example, 80% or 90% of full handicap. That's common in club events and leagues where you want to tighten the spread. The factor is set when the tournament is created and applied consistently across all players. Individual ball events and team events both respect it.
9-Hole vs 18-Hole, Done Right
We've updated stroke distribution to follow USGA guidance for 9-hole vs 18-hole play. Team ball handicap calculations now work correctly for 9-hole matches. Plus handicaps are supported in team handicaps. No more odd edge cases.
The Scorecard Popup
When handicaps are in use, tap the scorecard and you'll see a detailed popup. Course handicap, strokes received per hole, and the factor applied — all laid out so you know exactly how your strokes were calculated. NET and GROSS scores are displayed correctly. The popup only appears when handicaps are actually in use, so you're not cluttering a gross-only event.
Dynamic Scorecards
The scorecard dynamically adjusts columns based on holes played. Playing nine? You see nine. Playing eighteen? You see eighteen. No awkward empty columns or confusing layouts.
The Bottom Line
Whether you're running a casual league or a serious tournament, the handicap math is now more accurate, more transparent, and easier to trust.
