Late March 2026: Merch Pipeline, Pusher Scorecards, and a Faster App
A lot shipped since mid-March. Here's the roundup of everything that didn't get its own post.
Champion T-shirts and the Merch Pipeline
Tournament organizers can now create champion T-shirts as part of the post-tournament flow. Upload your logo, pick a template, preview it on a canvas right in the app, and push it to your Shopify merch store. The AI also drafts a recap email summarizing the tournament with results, highlights, and a link to buy gear. Pair it with the new Tournament Champion award type and you've got a complete post-event package.
Pusher-Reactive Scorecards
Scorecards no longer poll the server every few seconds to check for updates. They now use Pusher to receive real-time pushes when a playing partner saves a score. The save button is modernized, updates feel instant, and battery drain from constant polling is gone. This is one of those changes you won't notice unless you're looking for it — which is the point.
Enhanced Stat Infographics
Stat modals got another upgrade. You now see percentile bars that show where you rank, miss direction breakdowns for GIR and FIR, fairway recovery rates from different miss types, and a driving distance scatter plot with trend lines. GIR-adjusted putting is now calculated per-hole for more accurate insights. The stat history charts also show correlation plots — score vs. putts per round, score vs. GIR%, and more — so you can see what actually moves the needle.
Badge System Improvements
Badges cleaned up their backend — deduplication prevents the same badge from triggering twice, a new digest queue batches badge notifications so you don't get spammed after a big round, and the badge generator and UI got a refresh. Badge visuals now render correctly in the notification panel too.
Tournament Preview Cards
The tournament card on your feed now shows teammate names with handicaps, a Messages button to jump straight into tournament chat, and the To-Do checklist progress for organizers. It's a more useful snapshot before you even tap into the tournament.
Fire Points Activity Log
Your profile modal has a new Fire Points tab that shows a log of how you've earned engagement points — rounds posted, comments, likes, badges unlocked. It's a transparent look at what feeds your fire ranking.
AI Logo Generation Upgrade
Tournament logo generation switched from OpenAI DALL-E to Google Gemini, which produces cleaner, more consistent results for tournament branding.
Faster Navigation
Page transitions across the app are significantly faster thanks to architectural improvements that reduce full-page reloads on tab switches. The result is snappier navigation between your feed, scorecard, tournaments, and profile.
Smaller Fixes and Polish
- Login page: keyboard auto-focus, password visibility toggle, better error styling
- Nearby courses: optimized search using a bounding-box pre-filter before Haversine distance calculations
- Feed weather cards: improved layout and data display
- Course ranking matching: better handling of compound names and club/course distinctions
- GHIN cron: more resilient to downstream load failures
- Various CSS fixes across Find, scorecard, and tournament modals
Bottom Line
This batch was heavy on infrastructure and polish. Real-time scorecards, better stats, cleaner badges, and a faster app overall. The next time you open Clubhousen, it should just feel better.
